In this position, you will be responsible for low-leveland high-level software in Cesium’s products through all phases ofthe development process. Key projects will include Linux-basedsingle-board computers and high-reliability microcontrollersystems. Cesium’s goal is to create an out-of-the-box hardware andsoftware experience which enhances our customers’ ability torapidly integrate our products into their systems. As a Cesiumsoftware team member, you will be responsible for software designsfrom concept through production, including product roadmaps, blockdiagrams, detailed design and coding, analysis, test,qualification, and in-orbit support. The ideal candidate will havedevelopment experience at nearly every level of the software stack,including microcontrollers, low-level drivers, board supportpackages (BSP), end-use applications, and user interfaces.Additionally, the ideal candidate will have experience in softwaretesting and high-reliability qualification, as well as softwareengineering and software project management practices. Thesuccessful candidate will present engineering design reviewmaterials to our customers and executive team, as well asparticipate in proposal-writing efforts. As such, excellent writtenand verbal communication skills are required. JOB DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES - Designing and implementing software for embeddeddevices and systems, from requirements to production and commercialdeployment. - Designing, developing, coding, testing, debugging,and documenting system software. - Reviewing code and systemdesigns. - Analyzing code for efficiency, stability, andscalability. - Integrating and validating new product designs. -Supporting software quality assurance and optimizing I/Operformance. - Providing post-production/in-orbit customer support.- Interfacing with hardware design and development engineers. -Assessing third-party and open-source software. JOB REQUIREMENTSAND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - A Bachelor of Science (BS) or Masterof Science (MS) degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering,or Computer Engineering. - 9+ years of industry experience insoftware development. - Experience in hands-on development andtroubleshooting of embedded hardware. API design for interfacingwith FPGAs. - Experience with products for aerospace applications.- Programming experience in C or C++. - Experience in embeddedsystems design with preemptive, multitasking real-time operatingsystems (experience with real-time Linux is desirable). -Familiarity with software configuration management tools, defecttracking tools, and peer review. - Excellent knowledge of real-timesystem coding techniques, IP protocols, interfaces, and hardwaresubsystems. - Excellent understanding of multi-threadedapplications and resource management. - Excellent written andverbal communication skills. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE - Adequateknowledge of reading electronics schematics and component datasheets. - Experience with ARM processors and fully-featuredmicrocontrollers. - Experience in the design and development of aSoftware Development Kit (SDK). #J-18808-Ljbffr
