We have an opportunity for a Project Engineer to join our UK team on a permanent staff basis, located in our Aberdeen office. This includes studies, tenders and projects in the Offshore Energy market both local to the UK and on behalf of DeepOcean’s other global offices.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

ROLE

  • This is a diverse role and would provide exposure to renewables, oil and gas and subsea mineral work scopes.
  • Develop engineering methodologies and procedures in accordance with DeepOcean’s BMS.
  • Manage subcontractors in development of engineering solutions and offshore execution.
  • Liaise with Project/Tender/Technical Manager and Senior/Lead Engineer on workscopes.
  • Support graduates in their development along with the other members within the team.
  • Liaise with discipline engineering departments and tool pool to execute design scopes within the project phase.
  • Participate in offshore execution as required.

KEY TASKS

  • Perform engineering tasks according to the Engineering Procedure and in a safe and accurate manner.
  • Liaise with senior members of the team to deliver commercially and technically optimized solutions.
  • Participate in offshore execution phase as part of operation team.
  • Assist in planning and execution of marine and subsea operations.
  • Follow up design/fabrication of tools/structures.
  • Organize mobilization and offshore operation.
  • Ensure clients receive sufficient documentation and updates on progress, within the given deadlines.
  • Develop and seek to improve procedures and project documentation.
  • Liaise with HSEQS to ensure all project/tender specific HSEQS requirements are met and all necessary documentation is completed.
  • Work with senior members of the team and mentors to develop and grow capabilities and competency.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Higher Education Degree/Master/Bachelor (or equivalent) in relevant engineering or science subject.
  • Minimum 1-4 years relevant industry experience in a related role.
  • Commitment to professional development and membership to an Engineering Institution is preferable.
  • Offshore experience is preferable.
  • Experience with subsea construction, IMR, recycling (decommissioning) and survey inspection.
  • Experience with ROV and subsea operations.
  • Planning and accomplishment of marine operations according to industry standards.
