You willundertake and be part of the provision of high-qualityarchaeological science and geoarchaeological consultancy advice anddelivery for small through to nationally significant schemes andwill work closely with the wider Stantec Archaeology and Heritageteam to identify risks and opportunities for our portfolio ofprojects. As a Senior or Principal Geoarchaeology Consultant, youwill provide advice, risk analysis and research for a range ofschemes, including permitted development and those requiringplanning consent, EIA and/or DCO. You will provide advice toclients as well as internal colleagues. You will prepare andcontribute towards a range of technical documents, includingScreenings, Technical Advice Notes, Historic Environment Desk BasedAssessments, Geoarchaeological Desk-based Assessments, EvaluationReports, and Environmental Impact Assessments. This will involve areview of BGS and GI borehole data, geophysical survey and otherdigital data sets and grey literature; preparation of figures; sitewalkovers and archive visits; review of aerial photographs andLiDAR; geoarchaeology watching briefs on GI works, evaluationplanning and implementation and report writing. You will liaiseclosely with local authorities, Historic England and otherstakeholders to discuss and agree on geoarchaeological evaluationand mitigation strategies, undertake the subsequent management ofarchaeological fieldwork carried out by internal colleagues and/orsubcontractors and co-ordinate paleoenvironmental assessment andanalysis inputs.
