We're hiring: UAS Systems Operator | Aerospace & Defence | UK + International Travel

My client is seeking aUAS Systems Operatorto join their innovative flight operations team, supporting high-profile flight trials across the UK and internationally. Reporting to the Flight Operations Manager, this is a hands-on role combining technical precision, team collaboration, and field deployment.

What you'll be doing:

  • Operate as part of a mission crew managing UAS systems during live flight operations
  • Assist with the planning, execution, and reporting of ground-based and flight trials
  • Provide real-time feedback to engineering teams to support system improvements
  • Work closely with engineers on the assembly, integration, and testing of UAS platforms
  • Represent the team in front of customers and stakeholders where needed

About you:

  • Background in engineering, aerospace, or applied science, with strong analytical skills
  • Comfortable working both as part of a team and independently
  • Detail-oriented, methodical, and confident working in high-stakes environments
  • Strong communicator with a proactive mindset

Essential Skills:

  • Technical qualification or hands-on engineering experience
  • Knowledge of UAS technologies and operational procedures
  • Willingness to travel and deploy to both UK and international locations

Desirable (but not required):

  • Experience in manned aviation with CAA/FAA qualifications
  • Supervisory or mentoring experience
  • GVC, FAA Part 107, or similar certifications
  • Understanding of flight planning, meteorology, and airspace regulations
