We are seeking an experienced UK Haulage Subcontracter Manager to join a dynamic industry-leading transport business in a new role, based in Manchester.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing, managing and optimising subcontracted logistics services, ensuring smooth operations and driving efficiency across the UK-wide distribution network.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a growing, innovative company in the logistics space, where you will have the autonomy to shape and drive the subcontractor strategy. With a strong background in Full Load movements, you will bring in-depth knowledge of a broad range of logistics/subcontractor providers.

Subcontractor Management: Identify, negotiate, and manage relationships with subcontracted logistics providers, ensuring service levels are met, costs are controlled, and compliance with regulations is maintained.

Match capacity to shipments to meet customer expectations and ensure seamless freight execution
Take ownership of strategic freight opportunities by aligning internal teams and delivering tailored capacity solutions
Build a healthy portfolio of carrier capacity by sourcing, negotiating, and buying at market-competitive rates
Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers through communication, visits, and account reviews
Research and onboard new carriers by generating leads and qualifying opportunities UK Haulage Subcontractor Manager – Requirements

3+ years of experience in carrier sales and/or transport coordination, specializing in the UK Full Load market
Knowledge of managed carriers, automation tools, and recommendation systems
Proficiency in CRM tools and business KPI management
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
