Freelance Land Surveyor - HS2 (Chipping Warden, Northamptonshire)

We are seeking experienced Freelance Land Surveyors to support the HS2 project at our Chipping Warden site in Northamptonshire on an initial short-term basis.

Working alongside the Senior Land Surveyor, you will help establish and maintain the site survey control network and support the delivery of key construction stages. Responsibilities include carrying out topographical, engineering, hydrographic and measured building surveys using modern survey equipment such as robotic total stations, GNSS systems, laser scanners and drones.

You will be responsible for:

Setting out and carrying out as-built surveys

Topographical and engineering surveys, including laser scanning

Processing and managing point cloud data

GNSS surveying, precise traversing and levelling

Drone surveys for earthworks measurement

Producing and reviewing survey drawings in AutoCAD

Analysing survey data using Trimble Business Centre and GIS software

Supporting survey reports and technical documentation

Coordinating with Site Engineers and project teams on survey priorities, design changes and quality requirements

Liaising with consultants for inspections and approvals

Requirements

HND/Degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics or equivalent

Previous experience in a similar surveying role

Experience preparing survey Method Statements and Risk Assessments

Strong knowledge of Trimble total stations, GNSS receivers and levels

Proficiency in Trimble Business Centre

Excellent AutoCAD skills (2D and 3D)

Strong communication and report-writing skills

Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle

Valid CSCS cardThis is an excellent opportunity to contribute to one of the UK's largest infrastructure projects, working as part of the HS2 delivery team
