Your mission
Lead and uphold the integrity of UAS operations by managing the Air Safety Management System on behalf of the Accountable Manager. Own the production and governance of Operational Safety Cases (OSCs) and advance SORA 2.5 applications, ensuring regulatory compliance, operational readiness, and a culture of safety across the organisation.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of the Air Safety Management System (ASMS) on behalf of the Accountable Manager, ensuring alignment with regulatory and operational standards.
- Oversee the production and submission of CAA Operational Safety Cases and SORA 2.5 applications, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
- Provide expert guidance on SORA 2.5 methodology and its practical application within UAS operations.
- Ensure compliance with CAA regulations and maintain up-to-date knowledge of evolving standards.
- Apply a strong working knowledge of the MAA RA1600 series to support military and defence-related UAS assurance activities.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external regulators to maintain the highest standards of airworthiness and operational safety.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in implementing and managing an Air Safety Management System
- Strong working knowledge of SORA 2.5 and CAA regulatory frameworks
- Familiarity with the MAA RA1600 series and its application in defence environments
- Demonstrated experience in producing CAA Operational Safety Cases and managing regulatory submissions
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Proficiency in IT and corporate applications such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain UK Security Clearance (SC minimum, with potential for DV)
- Experience working in the defence sector.
- Recent operational UAS experience
