Job Role: Bid Manager

Salary: £60,000 - £75,000 (Inc. Car Allowance) + Excellent Benefits

Location: Birmingham (Hybrid)

GEM Partnership is delighted to partner with a well-established market-leading property development agency in the recruitment of a Bid Manager. With 10 offices across the UK, they provide property consultancy services with their services ranging from architecture to property valuation and management.

As part of exciting growth and development plans, our client is recruiting an individual to lead their bids and tender activity across their portfolio of services, where you will be responsible for their bid and tender strategy and its execution.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the formulation of winning strategies, client solutions, tender planning, and response delivery

  • Identifying opportunities for bid submissions and effectively managing their completion on behalf of diverse business streams

  • Own the entire bids process from qualification through to submission and follow up, producing client-focussed high-quality bids

  • Co-ordinating and executing the completion of bids, crafting persuasive and detailed proposals - bids will span both the public and private sector and vary significantly in value and complexity

  • Engaging with stakeholders across the business to create compelling and appropriately priced solutions and matrix manage all contributing functions

  • Maintaining the bidding timeframes and ensuring that all inputs and documents are submitted effectively, keeping track of cost elements and, where appropriate, managing budgets

  • Formulation of bidding strategy i.e. advising and analysing bid deliverables and strategically inputting into go / no-go decisions through market / competitor analysis, client advice, business configuration and capacity

  • Embed best practice throughout the bid process, sharing learning across the organisation and providing training and ad-hoc coaching to colleagues as appropriate

    Requirements:

  • Bid management experience, ideally gained in a multi-business stream organisation

  • Open on sector and person background, although it is felt engineering, property or professional services would be a strong alignment

  • Qualified to degree level in an appropriate subject

  • Member of relevant professional institution preferable but not essential

  • Experience of E-Tendering/portals

  • Strong experience in managing partners to build trusted external relationships and to establish and grow value and gravitas with internal colleagues.

  • Able to challenge internal stakeholders in a compelling way.
