We’re currently recruiting on behalf of a long-established and well-respected regional main contractor based in St Albans, who are seeking to appoint a talented Bid Writer to join their growing pre-construction team.

This business delivers a diverse portfolio of new build and refurbishment projects across the commercial, education, residential, and public sectors – typically valued between £1m–£10m. With a strong pipeline of work and a reputation for high-quality delivery, they’re now looking to strengthen their bid team.

The Role:

As Bid Writer, you will play a key role in producing compelling and high-quality written content for PQQs, tenders, and framework submissions. Working closely with the Pre-Construction Manager, Estimators, and Directors, you'll help shape winning submissions that align with the company’s strengths and values.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Write clear, concise, and persuasive bid content tailored to each client

  • Coordinate input from different departments to support responses

  • Maintain and develop the bid library and case studies

  • Proofread and quality-check all submissions for consistency and tone

  • Support with marketing and business development material when needed

    About You:

  • Proven experience as a Bid Writer in construction or a related sector

  • Strong writing and communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work collaboratively

  • Knowledge of public and private sector procurement processes is desirable
