Job Vacancy: BDM/Sales Engineer (Scotland)

Location: Hybrid (Home based/travel expected)

GPS have a great opportunity for a highly motivated and technically skilled Sales Manager/Engineer to focus on large scale heat pump projects. As a leading Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for driving sales and providing technical expertise to commercial and industrial clients who are interested in decarbonising their heating & electrical systems. Our business specialises in delivering high-quality, high-efficiency solutions using natural refrigerants exclusively. This is a self-driven sales role that requires exceptional teamwork and a strong technical background, preferably with experience in the refrigeration industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and engage with commercial and industrial clients who are interested in transitioning to heat pump systems to reduce their carbon footprint and improve energy efficiency.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their specific needs and requirements for decarbonizing their heating systems.

  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to clients on the benefits and suitability of our high-quality, high-efficiency heat pump solutions.

  • Conduct on-site assessments and evaluations to determine the feasibility and design requirements for heat pump installations.

  • Collaborate with internal teams, including engineering, design, and project management, to develop comprehensive and customized heat pump solutions for clients.

  • Prepare and deliver persuasive sales presentations and proposals that effectively communicate the value proposition and competitive advantages of our heat pump solutions.

  • Respond to client inquiries, provide accurate and timely technical information, and address any concerns or objections that may arise during the sales process.

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and advancements in heat pump technology, and effectively communicate these developments to clients.

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional materials, case studies, and technical documentation to support sales efforts.

  • Negotiate final contract terms in line with the company’s benchmarks to close contracts with clients, across a variety of contracting mechanisms. Values will range from £500,000 -£(phone number removed)

  • Achieve or exceed sales targets and contribute to the overall growth and success of the business.

    Skills/Qualifications Required:

  • Qualifications in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.

  • Experience in technical sales, preferably in the heat pump or refrigeration industry.

  • Strong knowledge of heat pump systems, refrigeration principles, and natural refrigerants.

  • Familiarity with commercial and industrial heating systems and their associated components.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Self-motivated and driven to achieve sales targets and deliver exceptional results.

  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to client sites as required
