Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum

We an independent, not-for-profit health club nestled in the heart of Thames Ditton, are looking to recruit a Communications and Marketing Manager. Our state-of-the-art facilities include a 25m pool, fully equipped gym, squash courts, nursery and junior provisions.

The Role

The Communications and Marketing Manager is responsible for driving the club’s growth and enhancing its brand reputation through strategic marketing initiatives and effective communication strategies. This role plays a pivotal part in generating sufficient leads, attracting new members, retaining existing ones, and nurturing community engagement among current and prospective members. 

As part of the senior leadership team, this role is pivotal in optimising communications and building Brand recognition focusing on the key pillars of Childcare, Junior activities, Events, Clubs within Clubs and Active aging.

As our Communications and Marketing Manager, your key objectives would be:

Brand recognition – Best independent Club in UK 
Net Growth – Improving cost of lead / sales metrics 
SLT metrics – Engagement of 5 pillars 

Key tasks would include:

Create comprehensive promotional marketing plans to drive membership growth and increase brand awareness. 
Utilise a mix of traditional and digital marketing channels, including social media, email marketing, digital advertising (PPC and SEM), content marketing and SEO, printing, and events. 
Serve as a brand guardian, ensuring consistency and integrity of our brand across all Comms channels and materials. 
Cultivate positive relationships with local and regional media outlets, national industry press, influencers and community partners to generate press coverage and enhance brand reputation.
Coordinate community outreach initiatives, sponsorships, and partnerships to increase our visibility and involvement in the local area.
Monitor relevant digital analytics, track performance metrics, and optimise campaigns and content for engagement and conversion.
Generate compelling, engaging content for various marketing channels, including website, social media platforms, newsletters, and promotional materials. 
Manage and maintain a presence on social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn. 
Assist in setting pricing strategies, forecasting, and annual budgets.

Key Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or related field. Alternatively, proven experience in digital marketing, website management, SEO or related role. 
Experience of line management responsibilities, and nurturing/developing small teams. 
Strong understanding of digital marketing strategies, techniques, and best practices. 
Proficiency in social media management platforms, website content management systems, and email marketing software. 
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create compelling digital content. 
Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, analyse performance metrics, and optimise digital initiatives. 
Creative thinker with the ability to develop innovative digital engagement strategies. 
Willing to get stuck-in, and a real ‘completer-finisher’.
