Technical Manager - Proposals

Purpose:

You’ll be responsible for providing cross-functional technical engineering support for products on a facilities management contract. You’ll work closely with the procurement team to ensure that product alternatives meet fit, form and function requirements and help identify avenues for commercial improvements for both the client and TVS. You will also be responsible for managing technical queries which arise from the client and provide support to the Supply Chain Quality Assurance team when a non-conformance occurs.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support across various functions, ensuring that correct products are being supplied to the client.

  • Liaise with the client through an alternative parts approval process, providing internal feedback before obtaining external approval if required.

  • Work with the purchasing team on value-add initiatives, providing technical support to ensure projects are compliant with client requirements.

  • Input on range rationalisation projects, working with the purchasing team to reduce the product range whilst maintaining product availability.

  • Provide timely responses to technical queries that arise through the Customer Service function.

  • Be responsible for product data management, such as description amendment and Electronic Parts Catalogue attribute detail.

    Though this position would be primarily office based at Chorley, applicants must be willing to travel and at times work from other locations, overnight travel and international travel will be required from time to time.

    Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

    Essential

  • Experience in a technical role, preferably in a Facilities Management / Electrical Sectors.

  • Demonstratable strengths in understanding the customer needs.

  • Strong experience in delivering exceptional customer experiences.

  • Energetic and enthusiastic to create change.

  • Determined, empathetic and persuasive.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Cross-functional worker

  • Strong influencer.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Applicants must have a valid driving license.

    Preferred

  • Experience in an electrical engineering role

  • Leadership and / or prior management of team members, preferably in a commercial setting.

  • Experience in a complex supply chain environment.

  • Commercial, purchasing, supply chain and/or operational background
