Job Description

This role holds responsibility for several operations including assisting with the outsourced facilities contracts at the Loudwater, Greenford and Weymouth sites for Ultra Maritime. Ensuring business meets all its statutory compliance needs.

  • Maintenance and repair.
  • Assists and supports the delivery of a strategic Facilities Management Service.
  • To assist in working to a Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule.
  • Support the business in out of hours’ emergency situations as part of the duty callout team.
  • Provide additional support to other sites in the region on an as and when basis.

Key responsibilities:

  • To always adhere to the business Health and Safety Policy setting the president to others.
  • Install and maintain critical electrical and mechanical business systems (subject to qualifications).
  • Assist with ensuring the business meets its statutory compliance requirements.
  • Assist with maintenance and modifications to Buildings, Equipment or Company assets where required.
  • Identify problems/issues & recommend solutions to prevent recurrence.
  • Review your job process with the objective of achieving continuous improvement.
  • Provide daily monitoring and response to Facilities related help desk tickets.
  • Be primary key holder and first point of contact for security and fire services.
  • Carry out routine maintenance on all machinery and equipment that falls under the remit of the Facilities Department, to include fault finding, problem solving and minor repairs to minimise down time.
  • Assist with external contractors as required and monitor and accompany them while on site. Ensure satisfactory completion of the work before signing contractors out.
  • Carry out all minor building fabric repairs in relation to buildings and utilities, planned and executed in such a way to minimise risk or inconvenience to others.
  • Carry out/organise modifications to desks, work benches and new equipment as required.
  • Minor troubleshooting & maintenance for office equipment if required.
  • Ensure full and timely reporting of all infrastructure breakdowns, significant problems, repair requirements, delay, or loss of service to relevant employees.
  • Support the Facilities, Health & Safety and Environment functions with day-to-day activities if/when needed.
  • Any other tasks that are reasonable assigned to you by your line manager, including development activities, which are within your capability and grade.
  • There may be additional activities to perform from time to time to maximise the contribution to Ultra Maritime’s goals and objectives. (this will also include travel to other sites).

Key skills/experience required:

  • Experience within Health & Safety.
  • Experience within Facilities.
  • Understanding of Facilities, Health, Safety & Environmental Legislation, statutory compliance, and best practice.
  • Self-driven and able to monitor own performance effectively to ensure deadlines are met, planning maintenance schedule / calendar.
  • IT literate or familiar with working on PCs and using Microsoft software etc.
  • HVAC, electrical, and plumbing equipment.
  • Ability to use basic carpentry, plumbing, painting, and custodial hand and electric powered tools.

Qualifications:

  • 5 years’ experience gained in a manufacturing environment.
  • Forklift truck license (not essential).

Typically, a High School Diploma (or equivalent) and related experience.

OSHA 10 certified (or equivalent).

Associates Degree in Technology or Technical Certificate preferred.
