About Us:

We are a circus production company, Arts Council NPO and a flying trapeze school. Established in 2009 as London’s first grand volant flying trapeze school and later expanding into an outdoor arts production company, we have been providing activities and aerial spectaculars to people young, old and in between ever since.

Until recently our production work consisted of large-scale outdoor shows featuring a variety of aerial circus acts. As the company develops, we are experimenting with a variety of styles of both indoor and outdoor circus performance.

Our Mission and Ambition:

Gorilla Circus has a mission to innovate, improve and increase access to high quality contemporary circus and spectaculars through international collaboration, the professional training of UK based artists and cross-pollination of disciplines. The company aims to create unique high impact, innovative yet affordable work that can compete on an international level. We are one of a handful of UK based companies able to produce shows both at a significant large scale and smaller theatrical work.

One of our primary ambitions as part of our NPO funding agreement is to build new community relations from our base in Fenland and widen access to the arts in the local area. The company has previously worked in priority investment areas such as Great Yarmouth, Luton and Grantham so welcomes the opportunity to engage closer to home. We aim to inspire and connect communities throughout all of our touring with works that highlight global issues, and bring in the voices of the communities that our work will serve.

About You:

These are the qualities and experiences we think you will need to fulfil this role. They might all apply to you, or only some. If, after reading the role description, you feel that you would be right for the job, we want to hear from you.

  • You’re able to balance your own decision-making with a collaborative approach. An essential part of your work ethic will be asking questions of others in the project team, to support you in your decisions
  • You’ll be someone who relishes the opportunity to be part of a small team, gaining valuable experience, maybe learning some new skills, as well as bringing your own individual qualities to the team – we want to learn from you too

We encourage applications from people currently under-represented in the sector.

Please note that this is a role that involves travel to different locations around the UK, including overnight stays.
