Richard Allitt Associates Ltd (RAA) part of RSK Group was established in 1996 to deliver innovative solutions for the complex needs of customers of the urban drainage industry. As Consulting Engineers, we maintain a traditional family based approach to business, putting client needs first and resolving flooding problems in the urban environment using the latest hydraulic modelling and analytical techniques.We are now hiring for a Graduate Hydraulic Modeller to join the team on a hybrid basis and working from one of our offices based in Crawley, Warrington or Birmingham.This is a great opportunity to where you will learn many transferable skills. For instance, RAA also undertake drone surveys using our inhouse team with a fleet of drones and sensors. As part of this graduate role, you will be able to get involved in this side of the business as well if it is of interest to you.Key Responsibilities: * You will work closely with the engineering teams on wastewater and drainage studies, from feasibility through to detailed design stages. You will act in an advisory role across the UK, operating with a high degree of autonomy and self-reliance. * Provide technical guidance and support to our clients, and other divisions within the Group in a team of other modellers, technicians and analysts. * We can offer an exciting range of project work, and a highly collaborative and supportive environment within which to further develop your career. * Use of InfoWorks ICM hydraulic software app to develop integrated 1D or 2D models. * Undertaking Hydrology Studies and determining appropriate inputs to integrated river and urban drainage catchment models. * Inputting and manipulating data including Lidar data, Ordnance Survey mapping, asset data, GIS data and other information from a variety of sources. * Assist with the development of new techniques and skills to expediate the delivery of projects * Prepare plans, maps, reports and diagrams * you will receive training in the use of hydraulic modelling software and in other apps such as GIS software (MapInfo, QGIS or ArcGIS), databases, spreadsheets etc. The training will be a mix of internal and external courses and on-the-job trainingPerson Specification: * Honours degree in a relevant subject area e.g Civil Engineering, Georgraphy or water based subject * Proficiency in computer skills * Strong technical skills in mathematics, GIS or engineering. * Ability to manage workload * Good communication skills.
