Stirling Council seeks to appoint an inspiring and dynamic Headteacher to lead the launch of Corbiewood Primary School, a brand-new educational setting designed to nurture curiosity, creativity, and community. This is a rare opportunity to shape the culture, ethos, and direction of a school from the ground up.

Corbiewood Primary School is situated in the South Stirling Gateway development, a new residential area. Starting in early , the successful candidate will work closely with the central team and a range of support services to ensure all operational, staffing, and curricular arrangements are in place for the school’s opening in August . As the school building is currently due to be completed in September , pupils enrolled in Corbiewood Primary School will be temporarily accommodated within another nearby school until the school building is complete. They will be Corbiewood Primary School pupils, with their own uniform, classroom and teaching staff who will all transfer with pupils once the school building is complete. Pupils will share dining and outdoor space with their host school. The school will have 7 classrooms initially with scope for a 4 classroom extension if required. It is likely the school will open in September with at least 2 classes, depending on enrollment. The school is associated with Bannockburn High School and is involved in the Bannockburn Learning Community.

This is an exciting opportunity within a new community requiring strong leadership, excellent communication skills and a thorough knowledge of current educational developments. The applicant will be committed to delivering excellence and equity by sustaining school improvement, promoting high quality learning and teaching, supporting health and wellbeing and raising achievement and attainment for all learners. Stirling’s culture of self-evaluation in schools and nurseries means that the successful applicant will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with innovative, reflective and skilled professionals.

Applicants must have achieved the Standard for Headship or equivalent, awarded by the General Teaching Council for Scotland or have held a permanent appointment as a headteacher of a public school, a grant-aided school or an independent school on or before 1 August in order to be appointed permanently to this post. Applicants who can demonstrate commitment to and likelihood of achieving this standard within 30 months may be considered for a temporary appointment (of no more than 30 months) while working toward the standard. assessment centre is scheduled for Tuesday 16th December and the Interviews will take place on Thursday 18th December. The successful candidate will be required to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme (PVG) for children.
