Chichester College Group have an exciting opportunity for a Lecturer in Hairdressing & Barbering at our Chichester Campus. You will join us on a part time (18.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year, permenant basis and in return, we will offer a competitive salary of pro rata of £26,716 - £41,659 per annum.

Are you an experienced and passionate hairdressing professional looking to inspire the next generation of Hairdressers, Barbers and Hair Stylists? Chichester College is seeking a Lecturer in Hairdressing and Barbering to join our fantastic team and help shape our students’ future careers in this key industry.

As a Lecturer in Hairdressing & Barbering, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality teaching and learning to our engaged students. Your expertise and enthusiasm will ignite their passion for the hairdressing sector, equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed to excel. You will have creative and innovative ideas to ensure teaching, learning, and assessment is at a very high standard. Our classes combine an exciting commercial salon environment with theory classes.

Our Lecturer in Hairdressing and Barbering will have relevant industry or subject experience and hold a level 3 qualification in a relevant subject.

Key Responsibilities of our Lecturer in Hairdressing & Barbering:

To undertake teaching and learning related activities, including tutoring, as agreed.

To ensure that appropriate learning materials are prepared and assessments and assignments are undertaken in a timely manner.

To undertake administration and provide reports and statistics regarding student and teaching matters.

To take an active role in the achievement of high individual student retention and success rates, meeting or surpassing the relevant targets for each.

To develop curricula and learning activities, taking into consideration literacy and numeracy development, and equality and diversity.

To understand personal responsibilities in relation to Safeguarding.

Keep up-to-date with current issues, changes, and policies relating to the educational sector.

To participate in marketing activities and promote the College for the purpose of gaining sponsorship, advertising, good public relations and increased recruitment.

To undertake the delivery of literacy and numeracy.

Our ideal Lecturer in Hairdressing & Barbering should have the below skills and experience:

Relevant industrial/commercial/subject experience

Experience teaching and assessing learners

Working knowledge of Hairdressing

Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

An understanding of safeguarding vulnerable groups

A relevant teaching qualification (e.g. Certificate in Education, PGCE, Level 5 Diploma in Teaching)

Level 2 literacy and numeracy
