Reporting to:Senior Dental Area Manager

Job Purpose

The Oral Care Consultants are field-based specialists who work in close partnership with UK dental professionals. This role involves detailing, selling, and merchandising Colgate products to either existing or new customers in the dental sector. Oral Care Consultants are field-based and are crucial in maintaining and building brand awareness and sales for our professional products range.

What you will do

  1. Visit dentists, hygienists & therapists within dental practices, area health authorities, hospitals, and dental hospitals located within your territory.
  2. Establish contact, build rapport, sell specialist Professional products, drive recommendation & endorsement for our consumer brands.
  3. Educate the dental professional and their teams in specific oral care areas, as well as the benefits of our Colgate products.
  4. Work closely with your Area Manager to develop your skills and capability through coaching and an individual development plan.
  5. Maintain and collate customer records within our C4C system, summarising where you have been, who you have seen, salient points of the conversation, competitor activity, and feedback about our Colgate products.
  6. Complete quarterly business plans and weekly visit plans.
  7. Provide technical/scientific and product information through arranging, administering, and presenting at trade exhibitions, educational group meetings to dentists, and on a one-to-one basis.
  8. Provide on-going feedback to Professional Marketing and Sales team.
  9. Deliver upon daily KPI’s, which involve contacting dental professionals and their teams face to face and by video call/phone for remote regions of Scotland.

Who you are

  1. Strong relationship building skills.
  2. Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
  3. Expertise in consultative and solutions selling.
  4. Customer/Consumer centric in your approach.
  5. Experienced in being customer facing in the field.
  6. The ability to communicate clearly and concisely complex concepts (Medical and Scientific data) to customers.
  7. Analytical skills.
  8. The ability to make customer-centric sales recommendations.
  9. Exposure to working/partnering with healthcare professionals would be an advantage but is not essential.
