THE JOB
The Programme Planning Manager job will play a key role, supporting the Programme Manager in delivering the strategic aims and objectives of the business through development, implementation and delivery of effective planning and assurance processes across a programme of projects (typically £100-£150m in value).
Key projects include replacing boilers with all-electric, non-fossil fuel plants and transitioning to refrigerants with lower global warming potential. Reporting to the Lead Planning Manager, you'll take a key role in leading the planning of projects across all stages of their lifecycle, from concept approval to delivery and closeout. Your mission is to make sure performance targets are not just met but surpassed consistently and on time.
Duties include:

  • Creating and maintaining schedules for the entire project journey, including internal and external interfaces. This will include managing the control programmes from project concept to closeout, managing contract program evaluations, assessing compensation events, conducting delay analysis and helping to drive schedule improvements through to our supply chain
  • Playing a major role in leading and managing planning teams for the programme. You'll expertly apply your knowledge and skills across multiple projects, to help us achieve our strategic goals.
  • Helping the planning team grow by contributing to the development of standards, managing, motivating, coaching and mentoring team members. You'll be excited about helping talented individuals reach their potential.
  • Reviewing the Programme, assisting in trend and change processes, reporting, risk management and finding ways to be more efficient that might positively affect programme outcomes and your teams' performance.
  • Continuously developing and upholding world-class health, safety, and environmental standards across the programme and its contractors. We aim to achieve health, safety and environmental excellence.
    WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
  • Educated to Degree/Post-Grad level or equivalent in construction or business related field.
  • Membership of a professionally recognised organisation such as RICS.
  • Experience as a senior planner/planner from the construction industry on multi-year programmes/projects with a value typically in excess of £50m in a relevant industry.
  • Experience of leading small teams of 2-3 people highly desirable.
  • Significant experienced of Primavera P6.
  • Experience of planning programmes of work including multiple, interfacing, concurrent projects highly desirable.
  • Experience in planning infrastructure programmes/projects in a live operational environment desirable.
  • Sound commercial and financial awareness. Knowledge and understanding of NEC suite of contracts highly desirable.
  • Good leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to motivate, coach, facilitate and create opportunities for learning for others.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to articulate and present complex ideas in a simple way, including to senior stakeholders.
  • Knowledge and understanding of airport environment desirable.
  • Personal resilience and the ability to manage ambiguity
