The Opportunity

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented professional to join our team as a Reporting Accountant.

You will be responsible for consolidating  the Group results for Aggregate Industries UK limited (AIUK) and its group of companies and reporting  them into the parent company, Holcim Ltd. In addition, you will be responsible for completing statutory accounts with the external auditors, for a number of legal entities.The individual will also support the HARPist to ensure the group’s compliance with the Holcim Accounting and Reporting Principles (HARP).

The ideal candidate will be adept at financial data consolidation, analysis, and presenting insights to support strategic decision-making. The role is an ideal opportunity for someone to get to know a very complex legal entity structure and business whilst providing added value in assisting the team to achieve key strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

Preparation of monthly consolidated results and analysis, quarterly reporting and annual submission for Holcim Ltd in line with parent reporting requirements.

Assist in the production of all statutory accounts, FRS101, FRS102 and full IFRS, along with coordination of external auditors and the in-house tax department.

Ensure adherence to accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and verify financial information.

Conduct variance analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement.

Support external audits and liaise with auditors to ensure successful audit results.

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a candidate who possesses a combination of technical accounting knowledge, analytical prowess, and effective communication skills. The role demands a proactive attitude and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Qualifications and Skills

ACA / ACCA qualified with a number of years post qualification experience

Excellent knowledge of IFRS / FRS 101 and FRS 102

Experience in production and audit of statutory accounts

University degree in accounting or related business field

Strong IT skills, particularly with the use of Microsoft Excel

A good team member who supports their colleagues

Track record of delivering Process Improvement and simplification and a “can-do attitude”

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written

Detail oriented with effective planning and organisational skills

Logical thinker, strong problem solving and analytical skills

Self-starting ability and possess the initiative and ability to make independent decisions

Ability to handle multiple tasks and complete work assignments within specified deadlines

Strong negotiation and persuasion skills and ability to work alongside “strong characters”

Energetic and enthusiastic individual
