Residential Building Surveyor – AssocRICS / MRICS / FRICS – Home working – Hiring in London for a number of openings (all locations in London / Greater London considered)

Established in 2015, our client’s client is a well-respected, friendly team of 20 property professionals, who are committed to delivering a quality service to their customers. 

They have a genuine focus on quality over quantity, carrying out four to five L3 Surveys per week with one day per week in office or at home reserved for report writing.  

Offering: 

  • Basic salary: £47,000 - £80,000 per annum (agency approx.). 
  • Pension contributions (Gov standard). 
  • 23 days holiday, plus bank holidays, rises after 5 and 7 years to 25 then 26 days. 
  • Workplace pension (standard). 
  • RICS memberships paid. 
  • 45p per mile, milage allowance. 
  • Lucrative bonus scheme, calculated as 20% of income above threshold per quarter (threshold varies between £20,000 and £30,000) e.g. Threshold: £25,000, Q Income: £50,000, £25,000 x 20% = £5,000 per Q / £20,000 total commission per year, on top of basic salary (paid quarterly). 

Additional information: 

  • Average expectation is five surveys per week on average, equating more than £200,000 per annum approx. in net fees. 
  • Their average turnaround time is 2 - 3 days for L2, and 4 - 5 days for L3. 
  • For technology, they use Go Report for reporting and drones to assist on site when required.
  • For career development, if you wish to diversify into valuation and party wall work, they are open to offering training and support. 
  • Progression to assisting department Director bringing in referral work with accompanying bonus scheme. 
  • Their average fee is L2: £750 (no Valuation) and £980 (with Valuation); L3: £1,425.  
  • For bookings, their in-house Administrator makes the bookings and an admin team who setup file, deal with T&Cs, send final reports, assist Surveyors with follow up calls/meetings, and assist with getting reviews from clients. 
  • Many of their Surveyors have been with the company for between 5 and 15 years. 
  • The position is working from home, with office attendance expected between day per week or per fortnight. 
  • They offer flexible working around family commitments subject to agreement with Line Manager and ability to make up time. 

All figures quoted above are approx. and possibly there will be additional car allowance / bonus payments.
