Job Description

ROV/Drone Operator

From £35,000 per annum + Car allowance

Location: East Midlands, UK

Type: Permanent - 37 hours per week

Are you a hands-on technician with a passion for ROVs, drone technology, and site-based inspections? We are working with a well-established manufacturer in the Midlands that supplies specialist liquid storage solutions across the UK. As part of their growth, they are seeking anROV/Drone Operatorto join their team and support the inspection and maintenance of tanks nationwide.

What You'll Be Doing:

  1. Attending client sites across the UK to conduct comprehensive underwater ROV inspections and interventions.
  2. Compiling clear and detailed assessment reports (including video footage) within 48 hours of inspection.
  3. Offering technical recommendations on repairs or full tank replacements where required.
  4. Operating tank cleaning equipment to remove silt and foreign objects (e.g., gloves, debris).
  5. Supporting marketing initiatives, including using drones for aerial photography and promoting ROV inspections, cleaning, and refurbishment.
  6. Assisting in training ROV team members in drone operations as needed.

What We're Looking For:

  • Previous experience operating ROVs and drones (preferably with CAA qualification or similar).
  • Technically minded with a keen eye for detail and strong reporting skills.
  • Comfortable with UK-wide travel and working on-site in varied environments.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
