    The Company

    We’ve teamed up with a reputable regional main contractor boasting over 40 years of industry expertise. Their focus spans design and build, maintenance, refurbishment, and fit-out services in various sectors such as Industrial, Healthcare, Commercial, Retail, and Hospitality. The projects primarily revolve around refurbishment, fit-out, and cut & carve initiatives.

    This seasoned contractor showcases an impressive annual turnover surpassing £50 million. Their track record speaks volumes as they consistently handle top-tier projects ranging from £1 million to £20 million. With a wealth of experience and a solid reputation, they excel in delivering exceptional outcomes throughout the construction and renovation processes.

    The Role

    Our client is currently seeking to recruit a Senior Estimator to join their team in Hertfordshire
    As the Senior Estimator you will be expected to lead the tender process and work independently

    You will be working across commercial offices, healthcare, retail, hospitality schemes.

    Roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    ·Assess new tenders, checking for completeness and accuracy of information supplied
    ·Marking up supplier and subcontractor enquiries to enable competitive quotations to be obtained
    ·Measure or schedule materials quantities for enquiry send‐outs
    ·Prepare take-offs in line with SMM7 & NRM
    ·Use Blue beam and CAD‐Measure to take off quantities from drawings
    ·Build up analytical unit rates and lump sum prices
    ·Scheduling and comparisons of subcontractor and supplier quotes including adjusting allowances for exclusions, clarifications etc, in order to compare on a like‐for‐like basis
    ·Produce a full set of Preliminaries for the project in question

    The right person

    You will be an experienced Estimator, with a proven track record in tendering for refurbishment / fit-out schemes of a similar size.

    You will ideally have cut and crave experience.

    You will be capable of tendering for schemes up to £20m

    You will be able to work from first principles.

    You will either be a Senior Estimator, or you will be a strong Intermediate Estimator who is ready to take the next step up
