Senior Estimator
Opportunity for an experienced Senior level Estimator to join a privately owned Billion-Pound Tier 1 contractor in their Major Projects regeneration division based in Central London.

About the role of Senior Estimator
As Senior Estimator you will be reporting to the head of Estimating in the Central London office 5 days a week. We work across the Commercial, Cut & Carve, New Build, Data Centres, Education, Health & Residential sectors, on projects valued £80m up to £500m.
You will be working closely with the Pre Construction Managers, Planners, Design Managers & Bid teams on a regular basis. We are looking for someone with 10+ years' experience in Estimating, who is able to take a lead, and help manage & mentor the existing team.

Responsibilities for Senior Estimator

  • Lead tender preparation
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates based on drawings, specifications & scope
  • Perform or oversee accurate quantities take offs, ensuring all costs are covered and nothing is omitted
  • Ensure timely & compliant submission of tender documents
  • Send out enquiries, review quotes, and negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers
  • Work with design, planning & delivery teams to ensure proposed savings are realistic
  • Identify and assess commercial & technical risks & opportunities
  • Mentor & guide junior estimators or assistant estimators
  • Work closely with Pre Construction Managers, Planners, Design Managers & Bid teams
  • Liaise with client representatives, cost consultants, and design teams as needed
  • Ensure a clear & detailed handover of successful tenders to the project team
  • Participate in post tender debriefs to learn from both wins and losses

    Requirements for Senior Estimator
  • 10+ years estimating experience
  • Experience working on residential projects valued minimum £80m
  • Experience working for a Tier 1 or large scale, complex projects
  • Experience working on two stage tenders (preferred but NOT essential)
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field
  • Longevity at previous employment
  • Happy to commute to London office 5 days a week
