Freedom ProfessionalServicesare looking to recruit an experienced Senior Land Surveyor, this is a hybrid role based from site, home and our office based in the Stowmarket region

The individual will be able to demonstrate a responsible approach to quality and health & safety management. This includes knowledge of compiling risk assessments and method statements (RAMS), and knowledge of lone working processes. Consideration will be given to candidates without a degree if they can demonstrate exceptional working knowledge.

A good knowledge of GEOMAX or LEICA total stations and GPS is preferable and training qualifications relating to CSCS, and Level 3 Diploma in Engineering Surveying (or equivalent) would support your application. Good knowledge of AutoCAD and survey processing software is essential, and experience of laser scanning would also be beneficial. We would expect candidates to have experience of dealing with client requirements and delivery of projects to varying specifications.

The successful candidate will have an opportunity to become an important part of our survey department with firm foundations. Our training and commitment will provide good prospects for a long career with Freedom Professional Services.

Some of the key deliverables in this role will include:

  • Conduct detailed land and measured building surveys using the latest surveying equipment and software.
  • Lead and manage surveying projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets.
  • Produce precise and comprehensive survey reports, including topographic surveys, boundary surveys, and building measurements.
  • Oversee the preparation and processing of survey data using CAD and other relevant software.
  • Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and deliver tailored surveying solutions.
  • Mentor and support junior surveyors, providing guidance and training to enhance their technical skills and professional development.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in surveying.

We're looking for an experienced, forward thinking and dedicatedSenior Land Surveyor to join our team.

You must have Qualifications and experience in:

  • Proficiency in using surveying equipment such as total stations, GPS, laser scanners, and drones.
  • Experience of Total Station and GNSS setting out
  • Advanced knowledge of CAD and other surveying software (e.g. AutoCAD, n4ce, Pix4Dmatic).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and produce detailed reports.
  • Excellent project management skills with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • A valid clean UK driving license and willingness to travel to various project sites.
  • Level 3 Diploma in Engineering Surveying or equivalent (Desirable)
