L3Harris in Brighton are part of Release Systems and Airborne Combat Systems sector operating in the Defence and Aerospace domain. We are looking for a candidate to join our vibrant team, working on the latest technologies in payload carriage and release on the latest cross domain platforms including UAVs, helicopters and Fast Jets, such as the F35 and 6th Gen.

What the role will involve

  • Managing a broad range of activities to successfully execute programmes to achieve contracted delivery, cost and quality targets through the full programme lifecycle, from bid through to programme completion
  • Managing multi-functional teams through the design, development, test, qualification and production/ manufacture of mission critical Defence and Aerospace products
  • Total ownership of the project budgets, resources, requirements, risks and on time delivery
  • Leading the creation and implementation of the integrated programme schedule
  • Manage bids and proposals through submission to the customer
  • Other duties include issuing progress reports, assisting senior management with relevant aspects of programme and business performance

What you’ll bring

The role of Senior Project Manager requires the following experience and skills:

  • At least 5 years' experience working within a project/programme management environment
  • Experience of managing multi-skilled teams through challenging customer requirements, whilst motivating and managing the project team members
  • Knowledge of product design and development governance and qualification
  • Evidence of excellent client and stakeholder relationships and ability to develop new ones
  • Developing project plans and schedules from first principles using Microsoft Project
  • A working knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM)
  • Knowledge and experience of a successful PMO bid and proposal management
  • Experience managing programme management reviews
  • Previous experience in the Defence/Aerospace sector would be desirable but not essential
