Remuneration: £28,000 - £35,000 + bonus

The role of the Specification Technician – Flat Roofing Systems will involve:

  • Specification Technician position dealing with various flat roof systems such as; felt roofing, green roofing systems, bitumen membranes, hot melt roofing, cold liquid applied waterproofing, waterproof roof coatings, single ply, structural waterproofing etc

  • Produce, check and process incoming technical specification requests, detail drawing requests, technical documentation and technical calculations

  • Checking of all incoming specification types produced for all waterproofing systems, against suitability and compatibility

  • Review completed roof survey reports

  • Liaison with clients and Area Technical Sales Managers providing technical advice

  • Dealing with inbound telephone and email enquiries

  • Checking and understanding specification construction, survey reports and construction drawings

    The ideal applicant will be a Specification Technician – Flat Roofing Systems with:

  • Must be a technically minded individual with experience within the construction industry

  • Experience carrying out calculations such as: wind load, u-value, moisture control, structural calculations, load calculations would be highly advantageous

  • Candidates coming from an architectural background would be a good fit

  • Ideally will have experience within the roofing and waterproofing market sector

  • Familiar with technical literature, specifications and surveys / reports

  • Must be able to read and interpret technical drawings

  • Ideally will have a construction related degree

  • Strong technical skills

  • IT literate (Microsoft Office)

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
