Are you an experienced and proactive Sub Agent with a proven track record in reinforced concrete (RC) structures on major highways projects? Do you thrive in a dynamic freelance environment and possess the technical expertise to drive critical packages from concept to completion?

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Freelance Sub Agent to join our team on an exciting major highways scheme. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in delivering significant infrastructure improvements, working alongside a leading civil engineering contractor.

The Role:

As a Freelance Sub Agent, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of RC structures packages within a major highways environment. Your duties will include:

Managing and supervising on-site construction activities related to RC structures (e.g., bridges, underpasses, retaining walls, culverts).
Ensuring work is carried out to the highest standards of safety, quality, and environmental compliance.
Interpreting and implementing engineering drawings and specifications.
Liaising effectively with the client, design team, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
Managing and monitoring programme progress, identifying and mitigating any potential delays.
Overseeing and managing site resources, including plant, labour, and materials.
Conducting site inspections and preparing detailed reports.
Implementing and adhering to strict health and safety procedures and regulations.
Assisting with the preparation of site records, progress reports, and variations.
Mentoring and supporting junior engineers and site staff.About You:

Proven experience as a Sub Agent on major highways infrastructure projects is essential.
Demonstrable expertise in the construction of reinforced concrete (RC) structures.
Relevant Civil Engineering qualification (e.g., HNC/HND, BEng/MEng).
SMSTS and CSCS certifications are mandatory.
Strong understanding of construction methodologies, health and safety legislation, and quality assurance procedures.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach.
Full UK driving licence.
