Function: Maintenance, Modification, Repair & Overhaul (MMRO)

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Aircraft Technician to support ground testing, air test activities, modification, maintenance, repair, and overhaul of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV).

You will work primarily at the factory as part of a small technical team, and periodically deploy as part of a multifunctional team supporting flight operations.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced technician who thrives in a hands-on, innovative, and fast-paced engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Delivery

Embody planned fleet modifications
Complete scheduled maintenance activities
Diagnose, plan, and complete unscheduled maintenance and repairs
Implement post‑manufacture role-specific modifications
Deliver product development modifications in collaboration with engineering/R&D
Manufacture or test sub-components to support modification tasks
Conduct ground testing for quality assurance and fault diagnosis
Identify and rectify faults found during testing
Support flying operations: ground handling, refuelling, maintenance
Provide feedback on system and design challenges to engineering and availability teams
Maintain accurate electronic records for aircraft and equipment
Uphold a clean, safe, and organised working environment
Perform additional duties as required by your manager

Responsibilities

Contribute Expertise

Act as an SME within MMRO domains, especially when deployed with flight teams
Provide technical leadership and guidance

Drive Cross-functional Collaboration

Work closely with Flight Operations, Engineering, and Customer teams
Ensure effective communication between your team and peer groups

Maintain Standards & Improve Processes

Uphold documentation, quality, and compliance standards
Identify and implement process improvements
Seek opportunities to enhance tools, systems, and operational efficiency

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

Experienced vehicle technician (air, automotive, marine, or rail)
Strong mechanical or electrical/electronic fault diagnosis skills
Confident supervising trade personnel
Ability to learn new technical skills quickly
Good communication skills
Ability to follow and provide feedback on engineering drawings/manufacturing packs
Proficient Microsoft Office user
Experience reading MCAD and ECAD drawings
Right to work in the UK
Ability to obtain vetting/security clearance if required

Desirable

Dual mechanical + electrical/electronic diagnostic capability
Experience with ERP or project management software
Willingness to periodically work from remote UK or overseas locations
