Assembly Technician

An exceptional opportunity for a hands-on Assembly Technician to join a pioneering imaging technology company that designs and builds advanced drone payload systems. Their cutting-edge solutions are transforming how environmental monitoring, agriculture, and infrastructure data are captured and analysed.

This role will suit someone with strong electronic assembly skills and a real passion for building things — perhaps a hobbyist electronics tinkerer or someone who loves working on side projects in their spare time. You’ll be part of a small, collaborative team, assembling and testing high-tech imaging payloads used on drones that are deployed globally.

Location: Oxford Technology Park, Oxford (on-site 5 days per week)
Salary: £45,000 per annum + 10% bonus + benefits

Requirements for Assembly Technician

Strong knowledge of electronics with hands-on electro-mechanical assembly experience, ideally in a lab or production setting

Skilled in soldering, rework, and basic electrical checks using DMM or oscilloscopes

Excellent attention to detail with a methodical and quality-focused mindset

Confident reading and working from schematics, wiring diagrams, and BOMs

Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach

Some software awareness (e.g. Python or firmware testing) would be a bonus

A proactive, curious personality — someone who enjoys building, testing, and problem-solving

Responsibilities for Assembly Technician

Assemble and integrate camera modules, PCBs, lenses, wiring harnesses, and other components into flight-ready drone payloads.

Perform electrical and functional verification checks to ensure high-quality builds.

Carry out calibration and basic validation of imaging systems.

Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, escalating where necessary with clear root-cause documentation.

Support firmware flashing, test logging, and recording of build and rework data.

Contribute to continuous improvement across build processes and testing procedures.

What the role offers

The chance to work with cutting-edge drone and imaging technologies at the forefront of environmental innovation.

A supportive and research-driven culture where your work has real-world impact.

Competitive package including bonus, stock options, private healthcare, and pension.
