The Role

The Bids and Tender Manager - 3PL Contract Logistics will play a critical role in leading all tender activities across the UK.

This position is a truly exciting opportunity for an experienced logistics professional to be at the forefront of a rapidly expanding organisation.

This person will be required a couple of days per week to travel when required with a preference of the Northamptonshire area for a few days per week.

Key Responsibilities:

End-to-End Bid Management - Lead the full bid life cycle - from qualification and strategy development to submission and post-submission clarifications.
Tender Qualification & Risk Assessment - Evaluate bid opportunities for strategic fit, commercial viability, and operational deliverability, ensuring alignment with business capability and risk appetite.
Bid Strategy & Solution Design - Collaborate with commercial, operations, finance, and IT teams to develop compelling, cost-effective, and innovative logistics solutions tailored to client needs.
Commercial Modelling & Pricing Oversight - Lead the creation of pricing models and costings, ensuring accuracy, competitiveness, and profitability across multi-site and multi-service solutions (e.g. warehousing, transport, value-added services).
Content Creation & Proposal Writing - Write and develop high-quality, persuasive, and compliant tender responses, executive summaries, and supporting documentation aligned to client specifications.
Stakeholder Engagement & Project Management - Coordinate cross-functional internal teams and manage time lines to deliver high-quality bid submissions on time and in full.
Client Interface & Clarification Handling - Engage with prospective clients to clarify requirements, present bid strategies, and support negotiation processes where required.
Market Intelligence & Benchmarking - Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and market pricing to inform bid positioning and decision-making.
Continuous Improvement - Drive bid process enhancements, maintain a library of proposal content, and implement lessons learned for future submissions.
Governance & Compliance - Ensure all bids comply with internal governance, legal, and commercial standards, as well as any regulatory or contractual requirements.

The Candidate

The successful candidate for the Bids and Tender Manager - 3PL Contract Logistics opportunity will have the following skills and experiences:

A Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain Background - Essential.
A minimum of 3+ years Bids or Tender management experience - Essential
Proven 3PL experience - Advantageous.
Previously managed Tender processes in excess of £10m - Advantageous.
The ability to create solutions minded teams to collectively collaborate to provide industry leading solutions - Essential.
Prior commercial knowledge of the UK logistics and warehousing market - Advantageous.
A proven ability to create and successfully present to prospective clients - an able user of Microsoft Office - Highly Advantageous.
An individual truly excited by large scale growth challenges - Essential.
Commutable to the Midlands / Home Counties / Northamptonshire area for c. 2 days per week - Essential.

The Package

Salary - £62,500 to £67,500.
