Senior Health Safety & Environmental Manager

This is a great opportunity to join a fast paced multi discipline Construction business with a solid growth path and a real desire and passion to be best in class. Continued growth and the diversity of its current workload have created the need to recruit a Senior Leader to drive safety and look after the company's responsibilities regarding its environmental impacts. 

Requirements

Purpose of the role: 

• To support the Company Group HSEQT Director by aiding in the continual 

improvement of the Management Systems, with a particular emphasis on accident, 

Incident, Near Miss, etc. reporting, recording and investigations. Scored audits of sites, 

inspections and guidance for sites, offices, and yards. Behavioural Change and 

Common Visual Standards Champion. 

What skills and experiences are essential to do this job? 

• Sound knowledge of the construction and / or house building industry and the 

relevant Health and Safety legislation. 

• Be willing to conduct Continual Personal Development (CPD), to maintain and keep 

up to date with current legislation, with regards Health & Safety and maintain 

relevant knowledge. 

• Possess or currently working towards relevant CSCS Competence card. 

• Good presentation skills 

• Persuasive communicator 

Main duties of the role: 

• Monthly Scored Audits, Periodic Inspections, Investigations and Support for the 

business units in line with the Common Visual Standards: 

• Periodic Inspections, Investigations and Support for the following in 

line with the Common Visual Standards: 

• Support the Company Group HSEQT Director with the monthly board report, the 

company’s ESG strategy, Group Strategy Board meetings, Pre-Construction meetings, 

Management meetings, Director Tours, Company Objectives & Targets and ensuring 

the highest standards of health, safety and environmental practices are upheld. 

• Help strengthen the company organisational culture of safety and environmental 

responsibility. 

• Support the Company Group HSEQT Director with the development of the Group and 

Business Unit processes in readiness for ISO external audits and once achieved 

assistance with the maintenance and internal auditing of the systems. 

• Support the Company HSEQT Director with the continual development and 

improvement of Global Hub / SharePoint in line with the Company’s Objectives and 

Targets. 

• Represent the business at client meetings and liaise with Regulatory Bodies. 

• Pre-Start Service Reviews as required. 

To be successful in this role i may have experience in these areas: 

• Health, Safety, Environmental Management. 

• ISO 14001, 9001 & 45001 attainment, maintenance, and continual improvement. 

• Good communication skills. 

• Integrated management systems. 

• Policy development. 

• Risk, COSHH assessments and safe systems of works. 

• Relationship management. 

It would be an advantage to hold the following qualifications 

• NEBOSH General / Construction. 

• Member of IOSH / IEMA or equivalent. 

• CSCS Card relevant to profession.
