The position is Business Development Manager for a SME composite and thermoplastic manufacturing business. This new position will be an important addition to our existing sales team. To cover the Wales and England territory.

The Business Development Manager will be one of a small management team who will drive forward the development of this progressive business to realise its full potential in the tank business. Consequently, the job incumbent will have appropriate management experience, commercial acumen, and hunger to grow an already successful business.

The job incumbent will:

(a) proactively contribute to the commercial management and growth of the Tank business to £1.1million of invoiced sales per annum over 36 months from appointment.

(b) develop and implement plans to significantly enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the sales and marketing activities .

The key challenges for the successful candidate will be to significantly improve:

Desirable Qualification

· HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering

· Sales Experience in Water & Waste, Process Industries selling chemical tanks or construction products

Person Specification:

The following personal attributes are key to success in the above role:-

· Leadership & drive - Ability to direct within an often pressurised work environment.

· Persuasiveness - Ability to make a persuasive, clear presentation of ideas or facts. Convincing others to their point of view. Gaining agreement or acceptance of plans and proposals.

· Interpersonal skills - Ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of people. Being aware of the impact of words and actions on those around them and to amend these accordingly. Skilled with workers, direct reports, other management team members and external clients etc.

· Tenacity - Ability to stay with a problem or line of thought until the matter is settled or the objective is no longer reasonably attainable: perseverance in the face of opposition.

· Decisiveness - Readiness to evaluate alternatives, make decisions and judgements, and to take action.

· Stress Tolerance - perform under pressure (- pressure from both high levels of workload and dealing with difficult people) and to meet deadlines.

· Delegation - Effective use of subordinates experience and skills. Knowledge of when, how and whom to delegate. Effective allocation of decision making and other responsibilities.

· Problem Analysis - Able to identify problems and seek relevant data to resolve them.

· Critical thinker - Intellectual capabilities and strategic abilities.

· Strong Attention to Detail - candidate must have the very good attention to detail.

Person Specification

· Experience in Technical Field Sales of at least 5-7 years - Technical sales knowledge and qualifications are essential in establishing credibility and in undertaking the problem solving solution selling aspects of this key role.

· Experience in the preparation of tenders, technical quotations and understand of financial instruments including advanced payment guarantees, bonds etc.

· Experience in attending site for site measurement, lifting operations etc

· Marketing - experiencing in preparing marketing strategy and tactile sales plans.

· Strong Presentation Skills - the preparation and presentation of technical presentations will be key skill required for the success of this role.

· Strong IT Skills with extensive experience in the use of powerpoint, excel, work and outlook and CRM programme Hubspot.

Remuneration Package

It is envisaged that the successful candidate will quickly establish their worth to the business and their renumeration package would be subject for review after 12 months.

· Basic Salary - £35,000 - £40,000

· Commission - £1000 per every £100k sold over £500k - unlimited

· Mobile and Laptop

· Holiday - 28 days per annum

· Mon-Friday
