As the organisation enters a significant phase of strategic growth, we are seeking a senior-level professional to spearhead the expansion of its Geotechnical Surveying division.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Senior Manager, Associate Director, or Director—particularly from a consultancy or specialist surveying background—who is ready to lead the development of a high-performing team and bring a compelling, high-value service offering to market.

About the Role

This is a pivotal leadership role with both strategic and operational responsibilities. You’ll be tasked with building out the geotechnical surveying capability, establishing best-in-class service delivery models, and positioning this business as a market leader in this space.

You’ll have the freedom to shape the division, bring in the right talent, and innovate through modern surveying technologies. Backed by a board committed to investment and long-term success, you’ll drive commercial growth in a rapidly evolving, opportunity-rich sector.

Key Responsibilities

Service Line Growth – Define and implement a strategy to establish and expand the geotechnical surveying service offering.
Team Leadership – Recruit, develop, and lead a high-calibre team of geotechnical professionals to support scalable service delivery.
Go-to-Market Strategy – Lead business development efforts, strengthen market presence, and forge strategic client relationships.
Innovation & Delivery – Introduce advanced geospatial and geotechnical technologies that enhance client insight and operational efficiency.
Client Engagement – Partner with key stakeholders to understand asset and infrastructure needs, tailoring technical solutions accordingly.
Commercial Performance – Deliver strong financial results through focused growth, resource planning, and operational excellence.
What We’re Looking For

Industry Expertise – A proven track record (8+ years) in geotechnical or geospatial surveying, preferably within a consultancy or commercial environment.
Leadership Acumen – Experience leading technical teams and driving cultural and commercial change.
Strategic Vision – Ability to shape new service offerings and deliver sustainable business growth.
Technical Fluency – Strong knowledge of modern surveying technologies including 3D laser scanning, drone surveys, LiDAR, and GIS platforms.
Commercial Focus – Client-facing and commercially savvy, with the ability to identify opportunities and influence senior stakeholders.
Qualifications – Degree-qualified (or equivalent experience) in Geotechnical Engineering, Geomatics, or a related field.
