Sales and Business Development Executive - Hybrid

As an Educational Consultant within the Bid Team, you will play a pivotal role in pre-sales activities, supporting Bromcom’s sales teams by leveraging your expertise in education. You will contribute to securing significant sales opportunities, including those with Local Authorities, Multi-Academy Trusts (MATs), and other large educational organisations.

This role has a strong emphasis on supporting other teams, including sales, product design, and customer support, particularly when bid work is less prominent. However, during large contract bids or busy periods, bid work will take priority, requiring increased focus on tender responses and related activities.

A key part of this role involves demonstrating Bromcom’s solutions to prospects, either remotely or at their premises. You will also represent Bromcom at education technology exhibitions, engaging with visitors. The role requires travel to prospect and customer sites for meetings and presentations, which may occasionally involve overnight stays. Visits to Bromcom offices will be required for key meetings.

We are inviting candidates who are current or former Headteachers to apply for this role.

Key Responsibilities

Support Bromcom’s pre-sales activities, including:



Presenting to key decision-makers (e.g., Local Authorities and MATs)

Delivering high-quality presentations and demonstrations of Bromcom’s software

*

Speaking at events and conferences as a subject matter expert

*

Assist in bid writing and tender responses, with greater focus during large contracts or busy periods

*

Enhance the quality and persuasiveness of proposals

*

Provide support across other teams, including sales and marketing, product design, and customer support, when bid work is less prominent

*

Stay updated on developments in education, especially in the UK (access to the National College provided)

*

Monitor competitor activity to maintain a competitive edge

*

Represent Bromcom at education technology exhibitions, engaging with visitors and promoting the company’s solutions

*

Travel as required, with occasional overnight stays in hotels for meetings, customer visits, conferences, or other consecutive-day work commitments

Essential Skills & Experience

*

Experience at a senior level in UK state-funded schools to headteacher level (past or present).

*

Exceptional written and verbal English skills

*

Meticulous attention to detail

*

Regular user experience with a school Management Information System (MIS)

*

Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

*

Confident and engaging presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts persuasively to senior decision-makers and varied audiences

*

Strong overall communication skills, both written and verbal

*

Strong literacy and numeracy skills

*

Ability to manage workload flexibly, balancing pre-sales, bid work, and wider company support

*

Proven ability to deliver high-quality work to tight deadlines

Desirable Skills & Experience (One or more of the following would be advantageous)

Previous role with a senior position within a MAT or local authority supporting education.

Proficiency in using Bromcom MIS.

Background as an OFSTED Inspector.

Involvement in school improvement initiatives.

Familiarity with school/trust Financial Management Systems (FMS).

Knowledge of school/trust budget planning.

Ability to manage a data lake, including data ingestion, storage, governance, and integration with analytics tools.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.

Strong customer relationship management skills.

Skilled in technical writing.

Competence in using Dynamics 365.

Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality

Excellent interpersonal skills

Proactive and takes initiative

Organised, able to manage multiple tasks effectively

Adaptable and responsive, able to shift between bid work, pre-sales, and wider company support as needed
