Internal Sales Representative

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Location: Chelmsford
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
Holidays: 25 days plus statutory bank holidays
Compensation & Additional Pay

Salary: From £28,000 to £31,000
Bonus scheme available

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated, customer-focused individual with a strong passion for sales to join our growing team. Reporting directly to the Profit Centre Manager, you will play a vital role in building and maintaining customer relationships while driving sales growth.

Key Responsibilities

Engaging with potential customers through outbound calls
Developing and maintaining strong client relationships
Providing top-quality customer service and support
Preparing and processing quotations and sales orders
Assisting customers at the trade counter
Following up on quotes and converting them into orders
Proactively reaching out to customers to ensure satisfaction
Supporting the team with general office and trade counter duties
Essential Skills & Experience

Proven sales experience
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and numerical skills
Strong work ethic and self-motivation
Strong negotiation and persuasion skills
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

Minimum of 4 GCSEs (Grade C/4 or above), including English and Mathematics
A valid driving licence is preferred but not essential
Main Responsibilities

Handling customer enquiries over the phone
Following up on outstanding quotations
Cold calling potential new clients
Supporting external sales representatives with their requests
Processing invoices and credit notes
Carrying out general administrative tasks
Trade Counter Duties

Assisting customers at the trade counter
Stocking and displaying additional profitable products
Ensuring the trade counter is clean and well-organised
Organising promotions and customer events
Experience & Qualifications

Sales experience: Minimum 2 years (required)
Customer service experience: Minimum 1 year (required)
Education: GCSE or equivalent
Licence/Certification: Driving Licence
