Primary Location:Unit 43 Holton Road, Holton Heath. This is a beautiful part of the country in the heart of the Isle of Purbeck near the town of Poole.

The Role:This Quality Engineer role at our GRP manufacturing site will be pivotal in driving the up-front quality planning of customer products, ensuring they meet all requirements and standards. You will have full ownership of the NCR process, leading quality improvement initiatives, and overseeing root cause analysis and corrective actions. In addition, you will spearhead cross-functional improvement efforts, demonstrating strong control over all aspects of quality management. Your leadership will involve close collaboration with Engineering, Production, and Customers, ensuring that up-front quality planning, customer requirements, and manufacturing challenges are effectively managed in alignment with QA procedures.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead collaboration with engineering and productionto integrate quality control requirements into build documentation, ensuring alignment with company standards and customer expectations.
  • Oversee the reviewof customer quality requirements, directing the appropriate flow down to relevant departments and documentation to guarantee compliance.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiativesin manufacturing processes and associated documentation, holding responsibility for their ongoing monitoring and optimisation.
  • Take full accountability for product inspectionsand quality sign-off, ensuring adherence to quality standards before release.
  • Approve and finalise Manufacturing Quality Packs, ensuring all deliverables meet company and customer standards before sign-off.
  • Manage the non-conformance process, ensuring timely identification, resolution, and corrective actions are implemented effectively.
  • Lead the execution of FAIRs (First Article Inspections)in compliance with customer requirements or AS9102 standards, ensuring proper documentation and verification.
  • Collect, analyse, and report production and quality process data, driving strategic decision-making and process enhancements.
  • Conduct comprehensive audits of the Quality Management System (QMS)and related processes, holding departments accountable for compliance and performance.
  • Ensure adherence to ISO 9001 standards, consistently driving quality and process excellence across all operations.
  • Manage Quality Inspector, setting objectives and targets and being responsible for performance development.

Desirable Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience of reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
  • Understanding of GD&T.
  • Ability to use industry standard inspection measurement equipment.
  • 5s and Lean Manufacturing experience.
  • CQI Qualification or similar.
  • Excellent Knowledge with ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
  • Ability to work under pressure in customer driven production environment.
  • Experience of root cause corrective actions process.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent people skills and technical know-how.
  • Experience leading a direct and non-direct team.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively influence and drive cultural change in the organisation.

Salary:Up to £45,000 depending on skills & experience.

Standard Working hours:Monday to Thursday 0800 – 1700, Friday 0800 – 1400.
