General Dynamics in St Leonards-on-Sea currently provide avionic mission computing systems for a wide range of military fast jets, helicopters, and UAV’s. Recent success has resulted in General Dynamics developing the next generation of Advanced High Performance, Safety Critical Mission Computer Systems to meet the needs of latest platforms in development by several aircraft manufacturers. These Mission Computing Systems provide the functionality that integrates aircraft systems, sensor systems and stores management systems with the information and control systems required by the aircrew to meet the demanding operational needs of these aircraft.

Job Description
As aQuality Engineer, you will be responsible for monitoring, analysing and identifying possible improvements through all aspects of quality assurance through the development and operational phase of programmes, with particular attention to the adherence of development and standards through process implementation in accordance with Company processes.

In This Quality Engineer Role, You Can Expect To

  • Ensure that non-conforming products, services and processes are investigated and effective corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
  • Perform audits at agreed points in the project/product lifecycle.
  • Provide support to Senior Quality Manager, Manufacturing leads, Programme Managers, Engineering and other business areas with regards to Quality as required.
  • Attendance at selected key reviews in accordance with agreed plans, including reviews at sub-contractors when required.

Qualifications
To be successful in the role of Quality Engineer, you will need qualification and background in an Engineering discipline. Preferably OND/HNC or equivalent qualification in subjects such as Electronics, Systems, Hardware or Software.

You Will Require The Following

  • Knowledge of MS Office tools.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001, preferably also AS9100.

Also

  • Experience of DO-254 & DO178C Design Assurance is desirable due to the nature of the programmes.
  • Professional registration as a Chartered member of the Quality Institute (CQI) is desirable, but not essential. General Dynamics Mission Systems actively support employees in attaining accredited status.

Additional Information
This role offers a starting salary of up to approx £57,000 (dependant on experience) plus our excellent bonus and flexible benefit package. This is a hybrid working position with time spent working in our offices in Hastings (ideally 3 days however we are open to flexibility) and from home.
