Safety Manager - UK

About the position:

As a Safety Manager, you will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth operation of our services. Your role will entail a wide array of tasks and responsibilities, encompassing both technical and operational aspects, with a strong emphasis on UK CAA engagement and PDRA/OSC/SORA writing. This multifaceted position requires an individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment. This includes overseeing regulatory activities, expanding permissions, and ensuring optimal efficiency.

Your role will be critical in ensuring Airpelago stays at the forefront of UAS Operations in the UK. You will expand on our current permissions and push the boundaries while ensuring operational safety. Ideally, the Safety Manager will be based in Nottingham, but hybrid remote working and travel around the UK and Europe are available.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and optimise Airpelago Ltd CAA permissions.
• Work with the Regional and Operations Manager to assess expansion areas.
• Conduct risk assessments and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Documentation and continuous policy-writing.
• Travel within the UK and abroad as needed, with flexibility for short-notice trips.

Required Qualifications:

• Experience in drone technology and PDRA/OSC submissions to the UK CAA is a must.
• A university degree is preferred but not required; experience in project coordination and team management is essential.
• The ideal candidate will have a strong technical interest, excellent computer skills, and a background in excelling at this level.
