DevOps Engineer

Our client is looking for a Senior Civil Design Engineer to join them working in the water industry. It is a permanent position with flexible hybrid working. 

Key Responsibilities:

Develop design layouts that are cost-effective, align with specification requirements, and are easily constructed and commissioned. Cost-effectiveness encompasses all costs associated with the design and construction, including design time, materials, erection costs, and any cross-disciplinary impact of the design.
Ensure the use of standard practices wherever possible to maintain competitiveness and efficiency.
Provide estimates and feedback for the Proposals department.
Adhere to established procedures and processes, contributing to the continuous development of the department.
Assist in the development, monitoring, and updating of department procedures and processes.
Write, review, and implement efficient procedures to support the smooth operation of the department.
Coordinate design efforts with all relevant disciplines, both internal and external, to ensure that all processes benefit the overall success of the project.
Maintain accurate files and records throughout the project lifecycle.
Strive to meet and exceed customer satisfaction, with an understanding that the customer includes both end-users and internal stakeholders.
Manage and update your personal development plan, contributing to both personal growth and the development of the team.
Assist in supervising and mentoring junior staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
Promote a safe working environment for all team members.
Minimize waste and improve efficiency in departmental activities.
Ensure that designs address environmental considerations and adhere to all relevant environmental guidelines.
Design with full consideration for health and safety requirements.
About the Candidate:

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

Demonstrable knowledge and experience in engineering principles, including structures, materials, geotechnics, hydraulics, and environmental engineering.
Working knowledge of roles and responsibilities under CDM 2015.
Familiarity with industry standards (BS, CESWI, WIMES) and relevant legislation (Water Industry Act 1991, The Water Supply (Water Quality) Regulations 2016).
Understanding of water and sewage treatment principles.
Experience managing staff in the design of relevant aspects of water and sewage treatment plants.
Membership of a professional institution (chartered or nearing chartership).
A relevant engineering degree (preferable), or HND in a relevant engineering discipline (minimum).
Ability to rationalize designs and produce cost-effective plant layouts.
Broad knowledge of all aspects of water treatment, including mechanical, process, and electrical engineering, as well as project management.
Strong ability to synthesize and process complex data efficiently.
Ability to present technical proposals clearly and persuasively.
Proficiency in computer literacy.
A valid driving license.
Desirable:

Working towards Chartered Engineer status.
Relevant Engineering Master’s Degree.
