The position focuses on general RF circuitry design but also offers the opportunity to engage with advanced technology, including up and down converters, power supplies, and non-linear design and simulations.
This is a full-time permanent position that is being offered a hybrid basis, 3 days in the office is the minimum requirement
Key Responsibilities:

  • RF Circuit Design: Engage in system architecture, RF simulation, schematic capture, and PCB layout, focusing on general RF circuits but with options to work on high-power amplifiers, converters, and power supplies.
  • Product Development: Lead and support the full product lifecycle from requirements gathering, design, testing, and validation.
  • Technical Support and Troubleshooting: Act as a technical authority on RF issues, collaborating with colleagues across engineering disciplines to ensure optimal product performance.
  • Independent Work: You will primarily work solo, managing your own projects and independently troubleshooting and testing your designs.
  • Collaboration and Leadership: Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the department’s growth and process improvements by documenting and sharing technical insights.
    What We’re Looking For:
  • Experience: Radio Frequency design or related roles within a commercial environment.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in PCB design software and RF simulation tools; experience with RF amplifiers, filters, antennas, and EMC; and solid understanding of analogue and digital electronics.
  • Preferred Skills: Familiarity with up and down converters, power supply designs, and advanced test equipment such as network Analyser and signal spectrum analysers.
  • Work Style: Ability to work independently, taking full ownership of tasks and projects with minimal oversight.
  • Education: Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • British citizenship or eligibility for Security Clearance (SC) is required.
    Why Choose ECS?
  • Innovation and Impact: Be at the forefront of secure RF technology solutions for critical national security and defence applications.
  • Professional Growth: Access cutting-edge resources and work alongside a passionate, high-performing team in a collaborative environment.
  • Global Opportunities: As part of SPX Technologies, ECS offers the stability and resources of a global organisation, combined with the agility of a specialised engineering team.
Bring your expertise to ECS, where your skills will shape pioneering RF technologies that make a difference. Apply now to be part of a team that thrives on innovation and excellence
