Teaching Assistant – SEMH School 
This SEMH school in Tamworth is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant who can make a positive impact on the lives of young people. As a Teaching Assistant in this setting, you will be supporting children who have faced barriers to learning, helping them to re-engage with education and build positive relationships. The school has a calm, nurturing approach and is looking for a Teaching Assistant who can bring patience, resilience, and genuine care to the role.

The successful Teaching Assistant will be working with students on a 1-2-1 and small-group basis, supporting emotional regulation, classroom engagement, and personal development. Being a Teaching Assistant in this environment means being adaptable, confident with behaviour support, and able to remain calm under pressure. You will join a supportive team of Teaching Assistants, Mentors and Teachers who work together to help each pupil thrive.
Job Role:

Provide 1-2-1 support for pupils with SEMH needs as a Teaching Assistant. Work as a Teaching Assistant to help pupils engage positively in lessons. Support teachers with classroom routines and lesson delivery. Assist with emotional regulation strategies and behaviour support. Work collaboratively with other Teaching Assistants and teaching staff. Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to encourage progress.

Requirements:
Experience working as a Teaching Assistant, Behaviour Mentor, Youth Worker, or similar.Confidence managing challenging behaviours in a supportive way.Ability to work effectively as part of a team.A patient, compassionate and resilient approach.A genuine interest in supporting young people to succeed.This is a fantastic opportunity for a Teaching Assistant who is passionate about helping young people reach their potential.
