Job Specification – Logistics Broker

Location: Leicester
Salary: £34,000 (rising to £38,000 after probation) + up to £100 weekly bonus (c. £5k per annum), potential total earnings up to £43,200
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm

The Role

We are seeking an ambitious and commercially minded Logistics Broker to join our growing team in Leicester. This is a pivotal role, working closely with existing customers and transport subcontractors while also developing new business relationships to help drive the company’s growth.

As a Logistics Broker, you will:

Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing haulier partners.

Regularly review haulier and subcontractor performance.

Bring new hauliers, subcontractors, and customers into the business.

Allocate and resource daily loads, achieving the best possible margins.

Schedule deliveries to ensure they meet customer expectations.

Monitor delivery performance and promptly communicate any delays.

Work to agreed targets and operational KPIs.

Ensure all data is accurately maintained within the TMS system.

Strong negotiation skills – able to secure the best rate from both customers and hauliers.

Proven track record in a targeted environment, with evidence of hitting performance goals.

Calm under pressure – capable of handling challenges and constraints effectively.

Team player – reliable and responsible, contributing positively to those around you.

Commercial awareness – good understanding of what drives business success.

Knowledge of subcontracting – strong grasp of transport costs, compliance, and legislation.

Bonus Structure

In addition to salary progression, you will benefit from a structured bonus scheme worth up to £5,000 per annum, based on:

Meeting and exceeding load count capacity.

Achieving and surpassing an average weekly Gross Profit (GP) trigger of 15%.

Total potential earnings: up to £43,200 per annum.
