Stratford, London (Hybrid) £450 - £470 per day (Umbrella) 6-Month Contract

The Opportunity

An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Technology Engineer to join a major infrastructure and transportation programme focused on innovation, automation, and emerging technologies within a highly regulated engineering environment.

This role will play a key part in driving technology-led improvements across critical infrastructure assets, with a particular focus on reducing manual maintenance activity, improving operational efficiency, and supporting the deployment of innovative engineering solutions.

The position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects involving AI, automation, remote monitoring, digital inspection technologies, and drone applications, while contributing to long-term transformation programmes across a complex engineering estate.

Key Responsibilities

Lead innovation and technology projects from concept through to deployment

Support the introduction of automation and digital inspection technologies

Work closely with engineering, maintenance, and asset management teams

Drive initiatives focused on improving safety, efficiency, and sustainability

Act as a technical authority within assigned project areas

Support the deployment of remote condition monitoring and data-led maintenance solutions

Contribute to business cases, technical assurance, and benefits realisation activities

Engage with internal stakeholders and external technology providers

Support innovation strategies across infrastructure and engineering operations

Ensure compliance within a regulated and safety-critical environment

Requirements

Experience delivering or supporting innovation and technology-focused engineering projects

Ability to engage with technical teams and senior stakeholders

Experience working within regulated engineering or infrastructure environments

Strong problem-solving and project delivery capability

Ability to operate autonomously within a fast-paced technical environment

Desirable Experience

Rail, infrastructure, transportation, or asset management sector experience

Experience with AI, machine vision, or automated inspection technologies

Knowledge of digital maintenance or condition monitoring systems

Qualifications

Degree qualified in Engineering, Technology, Software, Computer Science, or similar technical discipline

Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership would be advantageous
