Our client a UK-based engineering company specialising in the design, manufacture, and supply of high-performance components for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Working at the forefront of aerospace innovation, they support a range of commercial and specialist UAV programmes with precision-engineered solutions.

Due to continued development of their products and demand they are now looking for a skilled and practicalTest & Assembly Technician to join their growing team.

This is a genuinely hands-on engineering role suited to someone who enjoys working at the bench, building, testing, fault-finding, and improving precision assemblies in a fast-paced technical environment.

The Role

As aTest & Assembly Technician, you will play a key role in the assembly, inspection, and functional testing of UAV components and sub-assemblies. You’ll work closely with engineers and production staff to ensure products meet exacting quality and performance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble UAV components and sub-assemblies using engineering drawings and work instructions
  • Carry out functional testing and record accurate test data
  • Diagnose faults and support root-cause investigations on failed assemblies
  • Work collaboratively with engineering teams to support product improvements and development
  • Maintain component traceability and production documentation
  • Follow quality, safety, and ESD procedures at all times
  • Assist with inspection and preparation of components for delivery

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Proven hands-on mechanical assembly experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
  • Strong practical fault-finding and testing skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and quality standards
  • Good communication and documentation skills

Desirable:

  • Experience in aerospace, motorsport, defence, robotics, automotive, electronics manufacturing, or UAV sectors
  • Electromechanical or electronics assembly experience
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 or similar quality systems
  • HNC/HND or equivalent engineering qualification
