The company

Atomic Talent is working with a highly successful engineering organisation who are in a period of organic growth off the back off several consecutive years of substantial project wins.

The company prides itself on its workforce and has a fantastic development and support programme for those wishing to further their careers.

Main Purpose of Position

To provide strategic client interaction, and attendance at appropriate industry events. Develop and enhance the Business Winning function to ensure receipt of client tenders and enquiries for appropriate work to support and meet all targets defined within the company Business Plan.

So who's this going to suit?

Probably not an out and out BD person. This is also far from a sales role where immediate numbers are expected.

This will suit someone with incredible stakeholder management skills and a strategic mindset. The crux of the role is the further strengthening, and development of existing customer relationships. Ensuring a first class service is being provided in the present time whilst keeping eyes on the horizon and ensuring that the company is best placed to provide clients with the products and services that will allow them to succeed.

It's a people person role. You'll be liaising with multiple internal stakeholders and visiting a variety of client sites around the UK.

The clients are all key names in the nuclear supply chain so you'll be experienced within the sector. You might currently be working in, or around, the Business development function, you may be in client facing role and have a penchant for identifying opportunity

Specific Areas of Responsibility

  • Client Relationships - Develop and sustain appropriate client relationships to support the strategic direction objectives embedded within the company Business Plan.

  • Business Promotion - Enhance the company image of professionalism, our core values, quality, and raise awareness of our technical capabilities and capacity across target sectors.

  • Performance Monitoring - Maintain systems for the monitoring and reporting of all business development activities using targets and metrics to measure performance and produce accurate sales forecasts.

  • Capture Planning - Ensure effective capture planning is developed through the robust engagement with all stakeholders to facilitate their inputs effectively. Develop win themes and undertake competitor analysis

  • Industry Knowledge - Acquire and maintain detailed industry specific knowledge to enable effective identification of applicable opportunities and threats.

  • Representation - To represent the company at industry events, locally, nationally and internationally.

  • Commercial - Liaise with internal colleagues over the development and provision of commercial documentation

  • Proposal support - Assist with the timely completion of EOIs, PQQs and Proposal documentation to a high standard, including storyboarding, win-themes, and the review process.

  • Market & Client Development - Support effective horizon scanning strategies within our current, next and aspirational market.

    Engagement and Presentation - Prepare and undertake client visits to deliver engaging presentations that adequately reflects the full range of company capabilities.

  • Marketing Collaboration - Support marketing activities through involvement and provision of material for brochures, website, social media and other platforms

  • Social Impact - Actively engage with community, client, and environmental needs, supporting the company’s social impact strategy.

    About you

    An engineering HNC/HND in a Business Management/Administration type subject or similar relevant qualification.

    Experience & Knowledge

  • Business Development/ Sales in a service driven sector.

  • Successfully manage & direct own activity to meet time, project, cost and information requirements.

  • Preparation & delivery of sales presentations.

  • An understanding of Project Lifecycles.
