About the job:
We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager / Commercial Sales Specialist to lead our sales efforts within the Hard FM, Construction, Property Management, Commercial and Industry sectors, focusing on Solar PV services. This role encompasses both new solar installations and our three core services – preventative maintenance, panel cleaning, and pigeon proofing – for rooftop solar systems. As demand for these services grows, this is a prime opportunity to significantly expand this revenue stream.
About Ecovision:
Ecovision has extensive experience design, installation and managing distributed rooftop solar PV asset portfolios across the UK. We have installed over 5000 systems and currently manage over 19,000 installations across mainland UK 63MWp capacity), primarily on behalf of Portfolio Investors, Councils and Housing Associations. We have a strong track record of manging long term solar performance and work with clients to minimise operational costs whilst maximising the generation of renewable energy.
Renewable Industry growth and Ecovision:
The renewable energy industry is now experiencing significant growth across all sectors and technologies. As a consequence of increasing energy prices and the requirement to de carbonise energy production, the demand for new solar PV installation is growing at the highest rate since Government incentive schemes came to an end. In response to this Ecovision had a refocus on installation of new Solar PV systems, focusing on the rooftop sector with installations up to 500kWp.     What you’ll do:
  • Drive sales within the agreed sectors, focusing on new rooftop solar installations and our 3P services: preventative maintenance, panel cleaning, and pigeon proofing.
  • Meet and exceed sales targets through lead generation, customer targeting, and shaping market offers in collaboration with the Sales and Marketing Director.
  • Analyse market trends, commercial conditions, and competitive landscape to make informed decisions on product offerings and pricing.
  • Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key stakeholders within agreed sectors.
  • Oversee the entire sales cycle from lead generation to contract closure ensuring customer satisfaction and successful handovers to the Operations team.
  • Actively involved in managing key accounts, ensuring seamless communication and a positive client experience from proposal through to project completion and payment.
  • Collaborate with the Sales & Marketing Director to identify and capitalise on new market opportunities.
  • Lead client presentations, proposals, and contract negotiations to secure new business.
  • Create customer proposals
  • Attend site visits to present and assess property suitability and gather information
  • Attend industry events, networking functions, and forums to promote Ecovision's services and build connections.
  • Work closely with other teams to ensure the successful delivery of solar PV projects.
  • Support the Sales & Marketing Director in driving sales initiatives, business development activities, and company growth strategies.
  • The post holder may be required to undertake other reasonable adhoc duties as appropriate and requested by their Line Manager.
    What you’ll need:
    ● Strong track record in generating leads, closing deals, and achieving sales targets within Hard FM, Construction, Property Management, Commercial and Industrial companies.
    ● Strong network of contacts
    ● Understanding of Solar PV systems, technologies, and the evolving trends within the renewable energy sector.
    ● Good knowledge of Commercial Solar PV design and products (Solar panels, Mounting systems and Battery storage)
    ● Understanding of Solar Financing options e.g. Capex, PPA, Asset Finance
    ● Experience in analysing market conditions and supporting the Sales & Marketing Director in making decisions on pricing and product/service lines.
    ● Ability to take full commercial ownership of sales cycle and driving business growth.
    ● Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and clients.
    ● Persuasive and professional communication to ensure client satisfaction and long-term partnerships.
    ● Proactive and motivated to refine systems, processes, and strategies for continuous improvement and success.

    Location: Remote with occasional travel to the Head Office in Quedgeley, Gloucestershire.
    Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
    Salary: £40,000-£50,000 per annum (dependent on experience) plus a competitive commission package (dependent on experience) and Car allowance
