Finance Assistant

Are you a professional administrator perhaps looking to move into an entry level finance position? Perhaps you are studying your AAT or have up to 1 years' experience and looking for your next move within finance?

Reporting to the Lead Finance Assistant and Finance Operations Manager, the Finance Assistant will support core finance functions including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Invoicing, Purchasing and Cash Management. This is a varied role in a fast-paced environment, providing both operational support and the opportunity to partner with wider teams to improve efficiency across finance processes.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain cash books and post cash receipts across group companies Prepare payment requests using Lloyds Link online banking Raise sales invoices and process recurring customer charges Administer EDI activities and manage intercompany transactions Complete month-end bank and balance sheet reconciliations Support month-end close and statutory audit preparation Administer the fixed asset ledger and support cost tracking/monitoring Liaise with internal teams and external parties to resolve queries quickly Analyse and interpret complex data, producing accurate and clear reports Rotate responsibilities across purchase ledger, coding, and invoicing functions Highlight opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency

Skills & Experience

Essential:

GCSE English & Maths (Grade C/6 or above) Previous finance/administrative experience in a fast-paced environment Knowledge of accounts receivable, treasury, accounts payable and credit control functions Strong IT skills, including advanced use of Excel High level of numeracy and accuracy with excellent attention to detail Effective communication and time management skills

Desirable:

AAT Level 3 or above Experience using SAP or other ERP/CRM systems

Enthusiastic and proactive team player Conscientious and accountable with strong attention to detail Ability to remain calm under pressure and meet tight deadlines Confident, customer-focused, and professional in all interactions
