Warehouse Shift Coordinator - Mon to Thurs Nights

The role of the Warehouse Shift Coordinator is to understand, engage, and support the Strategic Sourcing & Supply Chain Manager in coordinating the daily tasks of the Warehouse department. Warehouse Shift Coordinator directs the logistic process to ensure the safety of employees, product safety, product quality, hygiene level, efficiency, and compliance with environmental safety requirements.

Essential daily tasks:
• Record every potentially hazardous incident
• Conduct physical inspection of the areas with the Warehouse Team Operatives
• Ensure that all areas of the warehouse are tidy and well-maintained
• Monitor future load plans in relation to stock and advise of potential shortages
• Responsible for scheduling and managing stocktakes
• Responsible for liaising with logistics companies where applicable
• Discuss each identified deficiency or discrepancy with the Shift Manager before the end of shift
• Check all pallets are to standard and any damage is reported with appropriate action taken
• Update spreadsheets with despatch information.
• Ensure stock rotation is maintained with FIFO system
• Be aware of Minimum life on despatch parameters and actions to take
• Ensure pickface is ready with FIFO materials for planned production
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with Team Members over all functions
• Follow booking in process for any materials and update system and relevant spreadsheets

Ensure your continuous presence in the warehouse area
• Be visible in the warehouse
• Provide immediate support for all team members
• Adhere consistently to policies and procedures for all team members

Update daily checklists
• Make sure you keep the required documentation up to date (checklists)
• Ensure that all cleaning and forklift checklists have been completed
• Shift handover to be complete at the end of your shift
• Review and align completed tasks and actions taken during the warehouse shift with your manager
• Complete the specified tasks and projects - in line with the requirements
• Coordinate with your superior the range of actions, the time of their execution, and the method of progress monitoring
• Engage in assigned activities and projects

Schedule breaks for your team
• Keep track of the scheduled breaks of employees during the warehouse shift
• Make sure that planned breaks do not compromise the safety, quality, and efficiency of the process
• Demand strict compliance with the regulations concerning break times from all team members

Essential skills and behaviours:
• Good attention to detail.
• Ability to identify, rectify, and enhance both employee and product safety areas
• Comprehension of quality standards, compliance with these standards, and reporting doubts when the process does not go smoothly.
• Support for in-house training programmes
• Understanding processes and readiness for their continuous improvement
• Computer Literate
• High communication skills assuming clear and precise expression, ability to understand the statements of others, ability to listen:
o Showing respect to colleagues
o Showcase positive attitudes and serve as a role model for team members
• Experience within goods in and despatch area and ability to develop further.
• Site safety awareness.
• Commercial awareness.
• Excellent time management and organisation skills.
• Good communicator and ability to work under pressure

Required experience:
• Stock Control: 1 year +(preferred)
• FMCG: 1 year (preferred)
• Computer literate
• FLT licence/Forklift experience is ESSENTIAL

Salary:
ÂŁ41309 with overtime rates available
Holidays
27 days – the site is open on bank holidays except for Christmas day

• Annual “long service award” of 4% increase of the basic pay each year once you have been for over a year from the anniversary date. Up to 20% cap
• An extra holiday day is awarded for every 5yrs service with no cap
