Job Description

CCL Global is supporting a major UK rail infrastructure organisation in the recruitment of a Senior Technology Engineer to support innovation and digital transformation initiatives across a high-profile transportation asset portfolio.

This position will play a key role in driving automation, remote inspection technologies, AI-enabled monitoring and data-led maintenance strategies across operational rail infrastructure.

Location: London, UK.

Type of Contract: 6 Month contract(Inside IR35) with Strong Potential to Convert to Permanent

Hybrid Working – Minimum 2 Days Per Week Onsite

Reporting into the Head of Innovation, this role will support the deployment of emerging technologies designed to:

Reduce manual maintenance activities, Improve operational efficiency and safety, Support digital transformation initiatives, Enhance asset management and infrastructure monitoring capabilities

Key duties will include:

* Delivery of innovation and automation projects

* Introduction of new technologies into operational environments

* Technical leadership across digital inspection and monitoring initiatives

* Stakeholder engagement with engineering, maintenance and asset teams

* Engineering assurance, compliance and safety reviews

* Development of business cases and benefits realisation

* Project coordination and technical reporting

Requirements:

* Degree in Engineering, Technology, Software or Computer Science preferred

* Chartered Engineer status advantageous

* Experience introducing or deploying new technologies

* Strong technical or systems-based background

* Experience with drones, remote monitoring or digital inspection technologies

* Ability to work autonomously and engage senior stakeholders

* Experience working within regulated engineering environments

* Rail or infrastructure industry experience

* Exposure to AI, automation or digital inspection systems

* Knowledge of remote inspection technologies and asset monitoring tools

* Asset management or maintenance optimisation experience
